David Sinclair’s Supplement Protocol
I just watched @hubermanlab interview with @davidasinclair. Great content on health optimization
Here is the link to the show: https://youtu.be/n9IxomBusuw
The thread below is a summary of David Sinclair’s supplement regime.
The specifics of the protocol are explained in the podcast.
Around the 51:00 mark is when DS digs into the supplements and it's a good overview on his reasons for taking each of the following:
- Resveratrol - 1000 mg daily
- NMN – Nicotinamide Mononucleotide precursor to NAD- 1000mg daily
- Vitamin D3 – DS takes at least 2,000IU per day
- Vitamin K2 – DS doesn’t mention dose.
- Omega-3 fish oil – taken daily in the evening
- Quercetin – DS takes 500mg in the mornings – a plant polyphenol, that can increase the effectiveness of resveratrol
- Coenzyme Q10 – often taken by people taking statins (which DS does). It also plays a role in mitochondrial energy production
I found a more detailed summary of DS's protocols here as well: https://fastlifehacks.com/david-sinclair-supplements/
DS also endorsed weekly cold exposure & heat exposure, fasting 1-3 days once a month and weight training 3 times a week to optimize sirtuin function - our longevity genes.
His ideal eating pattern is one meal day (2/22) or reducing one's eating window to allow for insulin optimization. He also avoids sugar and simple carbs.
The whole interview is worth a listen there is so much more on epigenetics, sirtuins, berberine, Metformin and working out and his thoughts on artificial sweeteners, along with more on his research areas.
